FIARowing

This was my original Rowing page added in Dec 1998.

We've been reading bear books lately: Jesse Bear, Ask Mr. Bear, Corduroy, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See, Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear, The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear, Jamberry, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Can't You Sleep, Little Bear? We've found other bears in animal books, Blueberries for Sal, Elmer's Friends and The Mitten and we've been dressing our weather bear, lining up all our bears from smallest to largest (including our little holiday bear). We've done the chant/song to Bear Hunt and have been singing a song learned at school to the tune of Are You Sleeping (Frere Jacques):

Cuddly koalas, cuddly koalas (hug self)

'Possums too, 'possums too (make rings around eyes like raccoon)

Wallabies and wombats, wallabies and wombats (make claw hands and crawl away from body)

Kanga-ROO, Kanga-ROO (jump up at ROO)

Here's Maggie sewing her Lauri lace-up cards after seeing Lisa in Corduroy sewing on a button and the moose in If You Give a Moose a Muffin.

Lauri makes great puzzles and I got great prices on mine from Timberdoodle, a homeschool supply mail order. See my mini reviews of all those books mentioned above.
