Vicenzo DiPrinzio is the earliest recorded relative on the DiPrinzio sidehistory.gif (13599 bytes) of the family.   He was from Casoli Lanciano, Abbruzzi Italy.   There he met and married Maria Grazia Bianchi.  Not much is  know of Vicenzo and Maria except they had four sons; Francesco, Carmine, Domenico, an enfant and one daughter Maria Domenica

Vicenzo's son Francesco DiPrinzio is the direct branch of our family and the family member to come to America.   He was primarily a blacksmith and ironworker from Casoli, Lanciana, Italy.

When Francesco met his future wife, Angela she was working in a family-owned fabric and dry goods store with her sister Luisette.  Francesco came to the store to purchase material for an overcoat. It was love at first sight; they were married right away.  He married Angela Lancia in Sulmona, Abbruzzi, Italy on Dec, 3, 1892.

At the age of 19(?) he made his first journey to the U.S.A. (Philia. PA.) He crossed the Atlantic Ocean 17 times thereafter.   It was many years before Angela joined Francesco.  Angela came to the U.S.A. 10 years later in 1902 with son Vincenzo,  called Vincent, who was born in Sulmona, Italy.

Francesco made 17 trips back to Italy to persuade Angela to come to America.  On his final trip, she consented to join him.  They settled for a time in Germantown, Philiadelphia County, PA. Later in Wayne, Delaware County, PA.

Francesco worked for R.H. Johnson Contractors for 55 years as a Blacksmith and later as the stone crusher.  His name was changed to Frank Prince by the owners and was known by that name until his death.  The DiPrinzio name appears in this book for daughters Felicia, Mary and son Vincenzo.
