My name is Murphy and I am 7 years old. I was named after Murphy Brown but my mama had to drop the Brown when she discovered that I was a boy. I was six weeks old when I came to live with my mama. I picked her from lots of other prospective mamas because I could tell right off that she was a push over. I am an only child and maybe I'm just a little bit spoiled. I have free run of the house and haven't had a cage since I was 3 years old. I also have a nice backyard to play in when the weather's nice. My mama collects things, mostly bunny things, but she does also collect ornaments and Disney. Her favorite collectibles are "Patchville Bunnies". Our house is full of bunny things. On July 21, 1997 at 5:35 a.m. the angels came and took Murphy to Heaven. He died in his Mama's arms. He would have been 8 years old October 15th. Murphy bravely battled cancer for a year and a half, enduring surgery for removal of tumors 3 times and eventually amputation of his left front leg at the shoulder. Even after removal of his leg, his spirits remained good and he never seemed to suffer. His leaving has left a large void in his Mama's life for she lost not only her son but her constant companion and her best friend. Although this web page was created for Murphy long before he was diagnosed with cancer and long before I knew that he wouldn't be with me forever, I hope that this will serve as a tribute and memorial to a friend that will always be missed and never forgotten.
