Chair cover for baby
Diane
I remember making these too.
This is how I did it: Cut out rectangles about 12" X 30" (very approximate). One was of a prequilted fabric and the 2nd was of that synthetic lambswool. Also cut our a strips about 3" wide and 10-12" long of both fabrics and then two more pieces about 3X30" long(or long enough to go arond baby's waist and whatever chair you plan on using it in.) Now put the wrong sides together of each of the matching sets (3) and zig-zag around the edge except for a 3" area on the big rectangle in which you will insert the the shorter strips two ends so that you have a loop sticking out the front. This part is the loop that will come from between the babies legs and accept the other strip which goes around his waist and is attached with either heavy duty velcro or snaps in the back of the chair. (Now I understand how come patterns can be hard to follow : O
The lambswool fabric is the side the baby sits on. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter. These are also great for sitting the baby in the shopping cart. (Back when they didn't have all those nice built-in seats)
My SIL and I used to make these for every baby shower for years when ours were small and they were a big hit.
