PENNSYLVANIA HISTORICAL SOCIETIES Most research sources will charge for their time and making copies. It varies from place to place. It probably is best to contact them ahead of time to find out their fees. I find it best to make a donation to a church, usually $3.00 to $5.00, for their time and effort. I have had very good results from churches and cemeteries. Don't forget a self- addressed envelope.Most Historical Societies will charge a flat fee and some may charge by the hour.
