Genealogy note:
Army records show that most of these men enlisted Sept. 11, 1863 at Grenada, Mississippi which is the date that Captain Peery's "Mississippi Ranger" Company was mustered into Confederate service. William B. Peery lived in that part of Choctaw county that is now Montgomery county. Following the practice of the day his company was probably made up entirely of his friends and neighbors from Choctaw county.
From a very brief study of Choctaw county records I have found the following:
Bobo, Simpson, Pvt. age 33 on 1860 census of Choctaw county. born S.C. wife Sarah
Dandy, E. F., Pvt. age 22 on 1860 census of Choctaw county. born Al.
Flowers, J. E., Cpl. full name James Edward. born 1844. died 1864. buried Montgomery county. son of John and Eliza.

Hammond, S. B., Pvt. age 28 on 1860 census of Choctaw county. born S.C. wife Mary A.
their daughter, Addie Pauline married grandson of Captain Peery.
Holmes, L. F., Pvt. born 1845 died 1928. buried Montgomery county.
Jefcoat, A. M., Pvt. age 21 on 1860 census of Choctaw county. born Al.
Lindsey, A. C., Pvt. born 1831 Choctaw county. died 1866. buried Montgomery county. wife Rachael.
