Family Home Page
Welcome to my family home page. I'm Rod and related to "Devil Anse" Hatfield. The family name traces it's roots back through England, Holland, Germany, Turkey and then to even to Palestine. Recent history connects the name to a famous feud in the USA. The result in part to the Civil War, this feud raged for nearly 20 years and almost became a civil war itself between Kentucky and West Virginia. The earliest recorded Hatfield appearing in the new Americas came mostly as indentured servants. One is named on a citizens petition to King James complaining of living conditions at the Jamestown Colony. Later records from Virginia tell of George Washington deeding land to Abraham Hatfield.

This is a monument of "Devil Anse" Hatfield located in Logan, WV. He was the leader of the clan during the now famous Hatfield & McCoy feud. I'm related to him. More details about the feud can be found by using my "Top Feud" link on this page. |
