Part 1 - Part 2

Due to her illness, Mommy had to spend a lot of time in hospitals. Spending days without her became almost routine. Every time she needed treatment, fainted, or just didn't feel too good, she had to go to Hadassa , and stay there - sometimes for almost a week! On one of these occasions, Gadi and Hadas went up to visit her. Noam and I were supposed to go up the next day, but she was released early - all the better.

When I set out to choose pictures for this album, I knew I had my work cut out for me. With shoeboxes full of pictures, lots of albums and many more pictures waiting to be put away, I had literally thousands to choose from. Luckily Daddy saved me the time and effort. He said he wanted this website to portray the Mommy who, through her terrible sickness, kept on smiling, with her big eyes, and projected a feeling of hope.
Noam's bar-mitzva was one of Mommy's greatest times. All of the family came from abroad, and everybody was so happy to be here. In this photo, Mommy joined Grandma (her mother) in admiring Noam's new tefillin.

October, 20, 1996. Mommy had such a wonderful time at Noam's Bar Mitzva party. It was such a simcha (joyous occasion). Here is Mommy reading her moving speech - It brought tears to the eyes of everyone present (even herself). Mommy talked about the bar-mitzva for months - she had such a great time!
Here is Mommy enjoying one of the lighter sides of Daddy's speech. I think she was laughing at one of the stories which Daddy told about Noam as a small child.

Last year ('96) shortly after returning from a great trip to Disney World in April, We were told that Mommy's older brother, David, was getting married in June. Of course we couldn't miss such an occasion - the family had been waiting for this wedding for 25 years! So, we got ready quickly, and only two months after comming back to Israel, we flew to the US once again. During our second trip, we also spent time visiting friends.
Mommy's birthday is December 28. Last year, ('96) that came out on a Saturday. We didn't have anything planned, but we got a birthday cake from a friend, and we were thinking of eating it on Saturday. Not so. Thursday night, we planned a surprise party - on such late notice, that it was a surprise to us too!

Although we thought of it Thursday night, we only started preparing Friday morning. We already had a cake, Noam bought some drinks and ice-cream, and at around 2:00 PM, Daddy managed to get Mommy out of the house - they went to a nursery to get some flowers for her miracle garden. We then had about half an hour, to blow up balloons, tape them to the window (forming the number 42), set up the table, etc. etc. etc. When our parents came back, we had one helluva party!
