Customs - Bays

ObsessionObsession

WW Obsession is a Williams' Parr's Dream Doll resin painted a golden bay with a blaze and high white stockings.

Chimney

WW Chimney Sweep is a repainted Breyer "Lonesome Glory". He started out a bright red-gold bay but seemed to have recurring problems and ended up this very dark bay with a very faint checkerboard groomed onto his rump.

Thrill SeekerThrill head study

WW Thrill Seeker is a Breyer "Cigar" repainted to a bright red-gold bay.

WALKERSCakewalk

These two are my very first repaints. They originally were the stallion and foal from the Hartland 6" Tennessee Walker Family, but as much loved playthings from my childhood, they were so battered and scraped that they needed new "coats" Thus were born Woodwind Fandango (stallion) and Woodwind Cakewalk (filly). Many thanks to Susan Rudnicki for her gentle tutoring and mentorship to get me started and keep me encouraged.

Fandango has since been auctioned in the 1998 Mid-Atlantic Regional Live Show's Remaker's Challenge Auction.

BroadwayBroadway

Broadway Sensation is a Kathleen Moody "On Broadway" resin, painted bay with a thin blaze.

Patriot

WW Patriot was my first "all alone" attempt at a repaint. I was basically trying to see what I would get using sponges instead of an airbrush (which I didn't have at the time). He is a repainted SM Morgan stallion done in dark bay with socks and a blaze.

Soul Man

WW Soul Man is a SM Seabiscuit remade into a turning pose, painted a dark bay with a blaze. He shows very well for me in performance using a Corinne Herb western saddle and bridle. SM performance is not for the light-hearted (or fumble fingered :->), but it sure is fun!

Widowmaker

WW Widowmaker is a straight repaint 5-Gaiter and was multiply-NAN qualified before he was donated to the 1999 MAR auction.

Fortune

WW Fortune Hunter is a remade Family Arab Mare painted a dark bay and has a braided mane and resculpted tail. I did this one just to see what I could make out of a FAM. Didn't turn out too badly, I think, especially considering some of the sculpting difficulties I encountered after moving her/his legs.

Signature Signature

WW Signature is a Lucas "Kulfi" resin painted by myself. He is shown placing third in the competative dressage class at Cow Country Live - my first attempt at doing a dressage entry. The second photo is the same day with Signature demonstrating a schooling canter around the poles.

FLASH! Signature placed second in the competative "Horse Trial" on March 18, 2000 at MAR and was RESERVE CHAMPION in Open Performance on April 1, 2000 at the Camden County 4-H Live show!

Spinrite

WW Spinrite is a straight repaint of the classic-sized "Swaps" mold. Spinrite was reserve Champion Sporthorse at the 1998 Mid-Atlantic Regional Live show. Spinrite found a new home with a young exhibitor at the Camden County 4-H live show.

Bess

WW Bess is a slightly larger than SM size soft rubber drafter repainted a bright bay using sponges, much the same way that Patriot was done. Not great, but not bad, especially from a distance. Up close the sponge marks are pretty obvious but she's still a pretty color. I will probably re-do her someday to get better shadings and a more even color.
