Purpose from God’s perspective:
1. Our purpose in life must be related to God’s purpose for us.
2. God’s priority involves people, not things.
3. Respond to other’s needs - we have something to give.
4. Help others achieve spiritual maturity.
5. What is spiritual maturity?
6. Conflict reveals the need for maturity - we grow from pressure.
7. Helping others mature brings joy to us - finding fulfillment in
servanthood.
8. Title or testimony - Our purpose is to build a life message rather
than a vocation.
Building a Life Message
A. Salvation - relationship with God (Rom. 10:9-10)
B. Separation - shedding what displeases God (1 Cor. 6:14-18)
C. Dedication - yielding to God and giving up our rights (Rom. 12:1-2)
D. Service - using our time, talents and treasures for God. (Matt. 6:19-20)
E. Suffering - hurt by those you help - identifying with Christ. (1 Pet. 4:12-13)
F. Responses - develop Christlike attitudes and respond accordingly. (Rom. 8:29)
G. Insights - using your experience to help others. (2 Cor. 1:2-8)
H. Maturity - lead others into reproducing the character of Jesus - bring them up
to where you are. (2 Tim. 2:2)
