Just after the turn of the century, several Schleis, Seigfried, Schnitzler and Willig families left their homes in Eastern Europe and headed for America. Many of them left from the port at Bremen, Germany, sailing an ocean liner to New York City. From there, they took a train into the heartland, finally settling in northeast Ohio.
