We have a 5 year old female (spayed) Chocolate point Siamese and she started some wierd behavior exactly 4 weeks ago tonight. She is constantly looking at her tail and seems to not think that it belongs to her. It's almost like she is scared of it. She will look and look at it and then run away. She is an indoor cat. We also have two other Siamese (Lilac Points) and they are fine. Have you ever heard of this type of behavior? It has us all baffled. Wonderful web site.

Hi, I hope that you can help. I couldn't get on to your behaviour page. I have 4 domestic cats. 2 Girls & 2 Boys. They have been clean, going outside to go to the loo but recently we have caught both girls weeing in the corner of our hall. We have a clean litter tray in the house at all times but we still find wee in the hall ay everyday. On both sides to us our neighbours have 2 dogs each that bark all of the time & scare the cats plus 1 neighbour also has 5 cats who are quite vicious and try & get in our house. Could this be causing stress. To add to it all the youngest boy oldest girl have never really got on but have recently been really nasty to each other. The Boy is a very jealous & greedy cat who wants my constant attention so if I stroke the other cats he nudges them out of the way. I am expecting my 1st baby so I th nk he will be a nightmare when the baby comes along. We are moving house to a nicer area within the next few weeks so I am hoping that things may calm down and make them less stressed. Can you give me any tips on how to deal with the girls weeing and keep ng the jealous boy in check. Many thanks Melanie

I know you can help me with the experience you have on cat behaviour. I have a huge problem. I have a 10 year old black cat, about 12 lbs., spayed, I got her at about 4 wks old, was saved, she has always been indoors, played very rough as a kitten (it s emed inherent), never really liked new people, will let you maybe pet her, then she would change her mind (almost always) and hiss, spit or hit you, then run away. She always hissed at kids, little kids, teens, any kids. I have tolerated her behaviour a l these years. NOW, I have taken in a kitten, all black, male, 3 months old, I have had him for about 6 weeks now, and my 10 yr old cat has not accepted him in the least, she will not come out of my bedroom (but only to eat his food), she hisses at him a every move he makes, she jumps at any noise anyone makes, she hated me and my son when we first brought the kitten home (for the first few weeks, she hissed, bit, hit, spit at us and would not let us touch her). Now after close to 2 months, this kitten s a little doll and he wants to play with her (the cat), he tries all the time and she just hisses and hates, you can see it in her eyes. I get so fed up with trying with her, I yell at her when she hisses and spits, I even sprayed her with water, she ju t gets madder. I want them to get along, and I want to keep our new little kitten. I am hoping he gets just a big as her and puts her in her place SOON! (I do try playing with them together, with the same toy, different toys, she doesn't want to partic pate. She used to be so playful, she would fetch her little balls, hit them over to me to throw them for her, she would bring them to me so I can throw them, and then return it to me. She was so playful; but could change her mind and be so unappreciativ and mean spirited. CAN YOU HELP ME? THANKS.

Hello! I am inquiring as my cat displays unusual behavior at times. Penelopie is a 1 year & 4 month old female Tortie Poing Himalayan. Her normal disposition according to my vet is not that of your ordinary Himmie. She is very active...not a couch pot to. In short she is very fun up until she gets around kids and most adults. The first sign of this behavior was when my mother came to visit. Penelopie started hissing, swatting and growling at my mother when I wasn't there. She had my mother backed i to a closet and didn't want to let her out. Each time my mom would come around she'd do the same thing. Another time we went on vacation and my mother-in-law babysat her. Again, the same behavior. A friend of mine who Penelopie LOVES watched her anoth r time and was great up until she was leaving...then she wouldn't let her leaave displaying the same swatting and hissing. My latest dilemma happened when I took her to the vet for her rabies and feline lukemia shots. We were ready to go home and she st rted throwing up repeatedly. Needless to say she got another shot to calm the nausea and had to stay a little while. My husband came to get her later, but when he arrived he heard that Penelopie had been throwing this same fit to all of the vets and the r assistants to the point that they could not get her out of the cage. She stayed another night because the vet was afraid of her hurting herself or someone. When my husband went to get her the next day he went back to the cage to get her. Same thing.. hissing, growling and throwing herself against the locked door of the cage. She seemed to get a bit of control when he spoke to her. He tickeled her under the chin and she seemed to like it, but when he opened the door to reach in and get her she pulle the same thing again on him! I don't know if she is protective of me or what! HELP! I cannot put her down or get rid of her. I have got to find a way to remedy this problem. She is so sweet to me and so full of personality. Do you have any suggestions? On Sunday, 31st January 1999, we lost our little boy cat, Whitley, who was 2 and a half. He was killed by a speeding car, which didn’t stop, on Kingswood Avenue, Taverham. Fortunately, the people that found him said that he died instantly which was a elief that he didn’t suffer. Whitley was pure white, and had a wonderful, cheeky character. He will be sadly missed and his sister, Gwyn, who is also pure white, misses him a great deal too. We would like to find her a companion, which will hopefully h lp to overcome our grief as well. My wife was told about the Ragdoll breed today. We had a wonderful siamese mix for 11 years but had to part with him a few years back. (He developed a trhoat/tongue cancer). Looking up all info regarding Ragdoll size. I got a starving cat from the animal shelter and he has grown from 7 to 19 pounds in 7 months. We are not overfeeding him. Is this normal for the breed? Thanx for any info you can send!

Hi, After first signing on, just a second ago, I found the beautiful picture of Diana. In Oct. of '96 and again in Feb. '97, I made trips to the most wonderful country in the world . . . England! I felt as if I had come home, yet, that is too mild an expression. On my visit there in Feb. '97, I had the privilege of meeting Diana & Fergie! I was waiting for a friend beside the half-price ticket booth in Leister Square. News cameras and people began gathering outside the hotel there. Not only did I get to see D F come out and get into a car but, they returned a short time later. At first I was speachless but, after waiting for my friend, who didn't show up, I went inside to use the phone. While walking through the reception area, there sat Diana, Fergie, and can't remember how many other famous faces!! I was stopped in my tracks, how many times would this happen to ME??? Only once in a lifetime. Well, Diana looked up, saw that I was looking at her [no, no, I WAS NOT GAPING!] and said Hello. I said hello ack and she then asked me if I was an American on holiday. Yes, I was both. She smile that famous smile, nodded her head and said have a good one. I always felt that she had gotten the rotten end of the deal. She was someone who truly felt for the people . . . she gave herself and her heart so willingly . . . and, in return, people gave themselves, heart and soul to her. What a wonderful chance of a lifetime to meet her face to face. I shall never forget that experience. Needless to say, when I heard of her death my first thought was that it had been a set-up [still think so], but that didn't ease the pain of losing her. Even though I am a U.S. citizen, Diana was someone I had rapport with . . . there just seemed to be a connection. I believe SHE had the AURA around her that made people feel loved, REALLY LOVED. I shall miss her -- it is true, a light has gone out.

It's really nice to find a site on Singapura as it's pretty uncommon and as Singaporean myself, I've not yet to see a real Singapura except at an occassional cat show. I adopted my ragdoll from the animal shelter, she was only 5 weeks old. I just recently discovered that she is a ragdoll. She is adorable and I love her alot. She gets car sick everytime we are in the car, and recenlty she throws up and has a bowel movement. Do you know of anything I can do for this. I adopted my ragdoll from the animal shelter, she was only 5 weeks old. I just recently discovered that she is a ragdoll. She is adorable and I love her alot. She gets car sick everytime we are in the car, and recenlty she throws up and has a bowel movement. Do you know of anything I can do for this.
