Footprints on a heart
On 6/21/05 a good friend that we all know as PapaJ (visit his website - Inside Out!) left us to go home and be with our Lord. I never met him in person, just many years of correspondence and sharing over the net. Another friend of his who provides the hosting for PapaJ's writings had never met him either but I have to agree with him that PapaJ is certainly one of the best friends I've ever had that I've never met. We shared bits and pieces of our lives, our families, our ups and downs, and so much more. We prayed together, we sought and provided inspiration from each other. I have been truly blessed that this man has been such a rich part of my life.
A good friend of mine gave me a saying that goes: There are hundreds, mabye even thousands, of folks that will cross and become a part of your life, but only a few will leave a footprint on your heart. PapaJ left a wonderful footprint on my heart and though we along with Pat and his family will all miss him so much, that footprint will carry me forward as the inspirations I need in all times good and bad. He was such a true servant of the Lord, loving all before even thinking of himself.
Go and visit his site, read his articles that come to you from a whole different view with such inspiration, then let him leave a footprint on your heart as well.
We don't often think of each person we meet as an opportunity to leave something of value with them. Remember, we all have our space. When your privliged to enter someone else's space, always do everything you can so that they are glad that you were there. Instead of just being a fleeting passing in their life, try to leave a smile, or through your actions the very presense and love of God, and do everything you can when at all possible to leave a footprint on their heart for them to carry with them wherever they go. To often it is easier to leave a footprint on someone's backside rather than their heart. Do that and you will teach them hatred and rejection, leave it on their heart you'll teach them love and the joy that comes from His presence.
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the PapaJs of this world that you have blessed us with. Please through your guidance, presence, and love teach us and and lead us to leave footprints on the hearts of all, so that in our passing by in their lives, they will have you with them forever. In Jesus precious name we pray Amen
May God flood you with His guidance, His love and the joy of His presence.
