FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH,
BUT SHALL HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

How can God Love Me?

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

What a wonderful verse. Right here in these 25 words are all you need to understand what God is about, why Jesus was here, and all you need to do to recieve and share God's fantastic Love and Grace.

Many ask what has this to do with me? Look at me. I'm one of billions on earth today. I'm nothing special, I've not done any great works, saved any lives, gone to church, or even led what many would say is a good life. I get up everyday, go to work, come home, watch TV and go to bed. I've friends, and try to be a good person, but I'm not rich, don't donate money to church, don't go out of my way for others, just pretty much stay to my self. How can God Love Me?

Then there's those who have to say I've done nothing for my fellow man but steal from him, treat him badly, I've had no care or feelings for him at all as long as I am taken care of. How can God Love Me?

There's those who do lots of good works, go to church every week, donate money to the church and charity, are successful, and still wonder - How can God Love Me?

Throughout this earth, there are those who have a different color of skin, live a different life style, practice a religious belief that they were taught, and hundreds of other things that many would say makes them sinners. Many have never seen a church or a Bible. The message they all hear the most is that they are condemned and can't find the Grace of God unless they totally change who they are and the way the are. You bet they ask How Can God Love Me?

It's unfortunate, even sad that the most prevalent message about God today is one of fear, damnation, punishment, hell fire and suffering. People today understand fear because it's all around them. They have trouble understanding a message of love, so it's much easier to teach the fear.

What a shame, because the first and main message that God would have us hear is about His Love for us.

1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
2Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1Joh 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.

So do you still ask, How Can God Love Me?

John 3:16 starts off with "For God so loved the world". There is absolutely nothing here that puts any restrictions on who God loves. No race, no color, no specific country to be born in, no works that have to be done, no limits on what your life is or has been like, nothing but the statement that God does love each and everyone of us without any qualification whatsoever.

And then He goes on to say "that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Here again, no restrictions, no qualifications, no limitations of any kind are found attached to the word "whosoever" God loves you and me and each and everyone of us, regardless of who we are, what we have or haven’t done, or anything else.

And even now God does not condemn us as noted in John 3:17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

He knows that we don't have the strength to not do wrong. We are unable to meet the requirements of a perfect, sin free life. He knows that by the original sin of Adam, you are unable to live up to the laws that He provided as a means to be in Heaven with Him. He wants so very much to be a part of your life, and for you to be a part of His. He knew that if He didn’t provide us with a measure or law that we could obey or live up to, we could not meet His requirements. To do this, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a life free of sin, to tell us of God's Love, to die on the cross to pay for our wrongdoing, and to live again, so that just through our belief in Jesus Christ by faith we could have our sins forgiven and washed away, have eternal life and share God's wonderful Love and blessings that He wants to give to us. This is the one the only requirement, and more important the one and only way to recieve God's forgivness as we are told in John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father , but by me.

Think about this for a moment. Jesus preached, healed, performed miracles, and most important of all told us of Gods love. For this, He was hated, wrongfully judged, and humiliated both in private and in public. They even spat on Him. Then they placed his hands and feet against a cross and drove spikes into them and stood the cross up to leave Him to die. Even then they stabbed Him in the side, taunted Him, and when thirsty gave Him vinegar to drink. All of this for one reason and one reason only, because God loves us. What a magnificent love this is to make a sacrifice such as this, and then ask only in return that we believe by faith.

Are you ready to realize the tremendous love for you that this sacrifice was made for? Are you ready for the old you to be washed clean by the blood of Jesus, to die on that cross with Him, and be reborn full of God's love, blessings, guidance, and assurances of everlasting life?

God grants you the right to make the choice. His love won’t let Him force himself on you, rather He will let you come to Him. If you seek God, He will lead, guide and bring you to Him. He will not reject you unless you first reject Him, and even then He will not reject you unless you come before Him, and Jesus does not know you.
1John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father : [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also].

You can search the far corners of this earth, and never find the amount of love God has for you. It doesn’t matter who you are, where your from, your life as you live it now, what you’ve done, or even if you have rejected Him in the past, He is there for you, waiting for you, and wanting very much to be a part of you. With God’s complete love, the only sin that is unforgivable is your total rejection of Him. No matter what else you’ve done, you will be forgiven, and will have spiritual blessings that are beyond description in words. This is God’s gift to you. You can’t buy it, you can’t work for it, you can’t earn it in any way. But through your belief in Jesus Christ, that wonderful gift is yours, and once yours, no one, not a person, government, or any law of any land can take it from you.

Won’t you take a moment and look into yourself to see who you really are, realize your responsibility for your actions, look up to see God’s love there waiting for you, and take that one step to God through Jesus? Only you can take this step. No one can do it for you. Take it now my friend and receive the wonderful gift of salvation that God is reaching out to give you.

This is the single most important decision of your life. There is no middle ground. You either believe in Jesus Christ, or you don't, and are rejecting God.

Take a moment, bow your head, open your heart, lift your eyes to the Lord and say the following prayer . If not this exact prayer say the same things in your words. If not that then go now to a Christian friend or minister, and talk with them about what your feeling right now.

Heavenly Father - I come to you Father just as I am, a sinner, unable to be worthy of your blessings, unable to live by your commandments. I have looked, and I have seen. I have listened and I have heard Father. I believe by faith that Jesus lived, died, and lives again today that the debts of my sins are now paid. Father I praise you for this, and ask that you forgive me and fill my life with the Holy Spirit that I can now live a life dedicated to you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
