Shortly before John and I got married, we went to Knott's Berry Farm and, on a whim, had one of those old time photos taken. While we weren't particularly fond of the way this one turned out, we loved the concept so much that we agreed whenever the opportunity arose, we would have family pictures taken in this manner. |

| This was one of the first family shots we took. Not thrilled with this one either, but Katy sure got a kick out of the dressing up and posing part.

Doesn't he just look the part of a soldier recuperating from war injuries? This is probably my favorite family shot just because of the history behind the picture. That's me on the right, my oldest sister, Kim on the left. The man seated in front with the bandages is my older brother, Keith. The bandages are quite real, the result of a motorcycle accident about a week prior to this photo session. It was not fun for him to travel the ninety minutes to the studio, but he was game just to get this priceless shot to give to our dad for Father's Day. Dad, by the way, loved it....and we, being the typical sisters that we are, still tease Keith mercilessly.
| My other favorite, hands down. I don't know how we managed to talk my grandmother into a picture, much less dragging her 90 minutes away, dressing up in costume and snapping a picture, but we did. This is a four generation shot of my grandma, my father, me, and Katy. One of my great treasures that I'd risk life and limb to grab out of a burning building. I only wish we'd been able to do this same thing with my mother and her mother before that grandma died. |
Done on the same day, just one of Katy and me to humor John. But it came out very nice, too.
