About Liquor-soaked Cakes
-------------------------

I find that generally you can make many variations of liquor-soaked cake by
finding a pound cake recipe or one that closely approximates it -- maybe even
a nice quick bread recipe (one filled with nuts or fruits or coconut are some
ideas). Once baked, push a skewer through the cake at various locations to
create little holes through the cake. Pour the liquor onto the cake and let it
soak in for awhile...I leave mine for about an hour, then pour on some more
liquor. Repeat this process until you're satisfied with the product.

I've also made liquor-based sauces for cakes like this by adding ingredients
like orange juice to liquor. Once I made a sauce with Grand Marnier (about
1/4 cup I think) and orange juice (about 1/2 cup). It was DELICIOUS!!

These are just general guidelines...obviously there are thousands of variations
that you could use.
