Singer 99 Bentwood Case (After)

The re-finishing was accomplished by using a mixture of Thinner and Boiled Linsead Oil, about a three to one mixture. After the initial clean up, the rest of the old finish was removed using Woodfinisher's Pride. This is a fairly mild stripper with a, not to unpleasant, Citrus odor. After wiping it down, the remaining stripper was cleaned off using the thinner/linsead oil mixture. After the clean up, two or three extra coats of the mixture were applied, with a final finish of two coats of Bartley's clear gel Varnish, followed with a coat of Howard's Feed & Wax.
