I am Still Nursing my Toddler

My daughter, Melia, is 16 months and we still nurse at least 3 times a day. It is like our connection with one another to begin a new day and end the same day just like we began. It is like me letting her know that she is my special little girl and in return she is letting me know that she loves Mommy. Melia is in daycare for 6 hours a day and the other kids get bottles. Melia has never had a bottle, but I think she understands that what they are getting from a bottle, she is getting from Mommy. So, she calls it "muma" and she calls me "momma". I love it and I plan to nurse until she is ready to be totally independent of me. As a career woman, I would have never thought I would nurse my child and want to stay home all day just to do it. Melia has changed my life for the better and I love her all the more for it.
