Nursing Nathan

I am so glad we finally got the internet...I am still breastfeeding my 3rd child, Nathan who is almost 19 months old and have been feeling so guilty because "society" just does not understand! He is simply not ready to give it up, he loves to nurse and it really does give him comfort when he is sick, upset or hurt. He is the youngest of 3 and I have 2 stepdaughters as well, I honestly feel he has figured this out, if he breastfeeds he gets my all in all attention. With this many children some days get hectic and breastfeeding relaxes us and helps me put what is really important in perspective, my children and their needs! He will nurse more some days than others and just seems to enjoys it. Nathan is my last baby and the thought of stopping right now makes me weepy. So, thank you for your website, I will be printing it in moments to share with family and friends who have not had the benefit of this kind of love to and from their child. Hopefully they will understand that Nathan isn't ready and there are solid reasons why I should still nurse him. AND yes he does like to nurse at night still, most nights he climbs into bed with us looking for the breast between 2 and 3 am, it calms him and lets him know "Mommy is right here for you". I love waking up to his sweet face! They will be gone before we know it, enjoy their preciousness and dependence NOW!
