Nursing Testimonial

My son, Josef, is 18 months and we are still nursing. I like to think that I am still giving him nutritional sustenance as well as a foundation for emotional growth. To be honest with you, we are nursing because we enjoy it! It gives me a wonderful sense of rightness knowing that my son can come to me at any time, ask for nummies and know that I will respond. It seems to help him feel secure in his world. I only nurse once in the night, usually around 5 in the morning, but I tend to nurse him whenever he wants during the day. Lately he has been suffering from a very bad cough and cold and has been refusing solid foods in all shapes, forms and flavours. Thank goodness he still wants his nummies. I don't have any plans on when we will wean. I plan to leave that up to a day to day basis. Until we finish, I am just enjoying every time we nurse.
