Apple Dapple Cake


1 1/2 cup salad oil
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3 cups chopped cooking apples

Mix oil, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add dry ingredients which have been mixed together. Fold in nuts and apples. Bake in 10" tube pan for one hour at 350 degrees.

Pour the following sauce over hot cake:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 stick margarine

Cook 3 minutes. Let cake stay in pan at least 2 hours or overnight to cool.
