William HUDSON was born in Anan in 1832, his parents were:
            Thomas HUDSON a mechanic and Mary BOWDEN....sometimes spelt as BOADIN / BODEN.

            Upon his arrival into Victoria, he headed for the Goldfields and became a miner.

            He married Elizabeth Jane RICHARDS on December 26 1854 at Ballarat.

            Elizabeth was born in Breage, Cornwall in 1837 and arrived in South Australia in 1847.
            Her parents were Thomas RICHARDS and Grace GILBERT.

            William and Elizabeth had 10 children, all born in the areas of Creswick, Carngham,
            Scarsdale, Castlemaine and Costerfield.

            The children being:

            William Charles HUDSON born 15 March 1856 at Creswick
            who later married Matilda Ellen KING at Sandhurst in 1881.
            William died at Mathoura in NSW in 1900.

            Thomas HUDSON born 1857, married his cousin at South Yarra in 1889,
            she was Emily Jane RICHARDS.
            Thomas died at Cue in Western Australia in 1916. 

            John Richard HUDSON born 1861 at Carngham, in 1890
            married Margaret KIERCE.
            John died after 1916, possibly in Western Australia.

            Jane HUDSON was born at Scarsdale in March 1863 and
            died 11 months later in February 1864.

            Grace HUDSON was also born at Scarsdale, on 29 November 1864.
            She later married Alexander HUTCHISON at Prahran in 1885.
            Alexander died 10 years later on 1 November 1895.
            Grace moved to Western Australia and in 1903 married:
            William Robinson JACKSON.
            Grace died at Bunbury in Western Australia in 1948.

            Edward Gilbert HUDSON was born at Carngham in 1867 and in
            1891 married Annie Josephine GRIFFIN.
            Edward died in 1945 at Parkville in Victoria.

            Alice HUDSON who was born in 1869 at Castlemaine, married
            Robert Ernest HUTCHISON (the brother of Alexander) in 1887.
            Alice died of Typhoid Fever at Fitzroy in 1898.

            George Boden HUDSON born at Costerfield in 1871 was killed in
            an accident at Tarnagulla in 1905.

            Nathaniel HUDSON, born 1873 at Costerfield, married in 1911 to
            Ellen Louise MEREDITH. "Nat" was killed in a mining accident
            at Wonthaggi in 1928.

            Anna HUDSON - the last child of William and Elizabeth - was born at
            Costerfield in 1875 and died three years later.

                 
 
 
            William HUDSON died at Costerfield on 23 March 1876 and is buried at the Graytown Cemetery.

           Elizabeth later re-married (to Thomas EVANS) and died at Day Dawn in Western Australia on
            3 July 1919. She is buried at the Cue -Day Dawn Cemetery.
