The DPS - as it is known - meets on the fourth Sunday of each month, from 12.30pm until 5.30pm. We meet at the Bundoora Community Hall, Noorong Avenue; Bundoora (Victoria; Australia)
The DPS here in Melbourne was started in August 1992 with 12 interested persons meeting at my home! It has grown since those early days, and since April 1994 we have been meeting at the local community hall which accommodates the 50 plus people that attend each month.
The main reason for starting such a group was to provide a "support network for genealogists, with their main areas of interest (apart from family history!) being computers, Bulletin Boards and or the Internet".Some months we may have a "guest speaker", other times we allow more time for questions and helpful advice from (and for) the members of DPS.
You can now find DPS groups throughout Australia and New Zealand, and if you are traveling around, you may be lucky enough to be in an area when the DPS meeting takes place.
Melbourne Dead Person's Society now has its very own web page! Please visit soon and meet our members, check out the names being researched, our 'other items of interest', plus there are plenty of genie links to keep you busy!
