The Beach Boys Album Discography
[ Capitol | Brother/Reprise | Caribou | Capitol Two-Fers | Solo ]
This discography does not include the 100+ "Greatest Hits" style compilations nor the many releases of the Hite Morgan material. Only compilations that include previously unreleased material or material not previously available on an album are listed here. Thus, the only songs you would be missing after accumulating this collection of albums would be the single songs from various artists album, soundtracks, etc. that have never made it onto a true Beach Boys album.
The Capitol Records albums from 1962-1970 (including Live In London, but not including Pet Sounds or the Christmas Album) were reissued a few years back on CD, with two albums per disk, along with bonus tracks. When the Brother Records albums were re-released on CD a second time (the original CD release was by Epic/Sony, the second release was by Capitol), beginning in July of 2000, the "two-fer" format was also used. The details for these "Capitol Two-Fers" follow this chronological album discography.

In 1991, the CD was reissued in the US, this time in stereo, with four bonus tracks : the two from the Japanese CD release, and alternate takes of Little Saint Nick and Auld Lang Syne. 1971
Surf's Up (Brother/Reprise Records)
1972
Carl & The Passions (Brother/Reprise Records) - So Tough - Originally issued as a double LP. The second LP was a copy of Pet Sounds. Go figure.

Holland (Brother/Reprise Records) - The album included a separate EP called Mount Vernon And Fairway (A Fairy Tale). The first CD release combined the LP and EP onto a single disk.
The Beach Boys In Concert (Brother/Reprise Records) - Two LP live album. This album marks the first appearance of the lyrics to Bicycle Rider (sang during the live version of Heroes And Villians) from the aborted Smile album.

M.I.U. (Brother/Reprise Records) - The first CD release of this album actually included different mixes of three tracks (Come Go With Me and Winds Of Change were two) that you can't find anywhere else, so you'll have to get both a copy of the LP and a copy of the CD !

1980
Keepin' The Summer Alive (Caribou Records)
1981
Ten Years Of Harmony (Caribou Records) - Two LP compilation with four tracks never before on a Beach Boys abum. Includes two previously unreleased tracks, San Miguel and Sea Cruise, It's A Beautiful Day (from the movie Americathon), and River Song (from Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue solo LP).
Beach Boys/Brian Wilson Rarities (Capitol Records in Austrailia only) - Contains a live version of What'd I Say by the Beach Boys unavailable elsewhere, some rare non-album cuts (including the four single sides included on 1983's Rarities LP), both sides of the only Dennis Wilson & Rumbo single, and both sides of the only Survivors single, in addition to several other cuts by artists produced by Brian.
The Beach Boys Rarities (Capitol Records) - 13 tracks never before released on an album, including four single sides (You're Welcome, The Lord's Prayer, Celebrate The News, and Cotton Fields), and nine previously unreleased tracks (several, but not all, of which turn up as bonus tracks on the Capitol Two-Fers).

Sunkist Presents Good Vibrations From The Beach Boys (Brother Records) - Nine track compilation album sold at live shows included Beach Boys Medley (not previously available on an album) and a live cover version of Runaway. Also included were the two new cuts from Made In USA.
Made In USA (Capitol Records) - Two LP compilation which included two new tracks : Rock 'N' Roll To The Rescue and California Dreamin'. Actually, if you are a "collector-of-songs", you can get the previous album and skip this one.
1988
Surfin' (Telstar Records) - 12 track compilation of the Hite Morgan recordings. The reason I include this here is because at the time, this was the best way to get all 12 of the Hite Morgan songs. There were many other compilations that included some of them, but not all, or that included a few Beach Boys cover tunes in the package to make it more sellable.
1989
Still Crusin' (Capitol Records) - 10 track compilation of songs from movies, but with a few new cuts (Still Cuisin', Somewhere Near Japan, Island Girl, and In my Car) and a few that haven't been on Beach Boys albums before (Kokomo, Wipe Out, and Make It Big).
1991
The Beach Boys Lost & Found 1961-1962 (DCC Compact Classics) - Previously unreleased takes (and a neww song !) from the Hite Morgan sessions.
1992
Summer In Paradise (Brother Records) - The first Beach Boys album with absolutely NO contribution from Brian Wilson (unless you count the fact that he co-wrote Surfin' - a new recording of which appears here). How depressing.
1993
Good Vibrations - Thirty Years Of The Beach Boys (Capitol Records) - Five CD boxed set of mostly previouslyy unreleased material.
1996
