Do you believe in love at first sight? We do!

May we introduce ourselves? We are Tom and Ila Migut. We have lived with cats for the last 23 years, but had never really thought about showing or breeding. 2 years ago, on a whim, we drove up to nearby Madison, WI, to attend our first cat show. We met Judy Mendelsohn from Montréal who was showing two silver Egyptian Maus and were instantly enamored. Although Judy didn’t have any kittens at the time, she did refer us to Bill Ritchot, who had a striking little boy. Tom persuaded Bill to help him "get my wife a new buddy" and flew to Canada to bring our first Mau home.

We really didn’t have any plans to show him, but with a little encouragement from Judy and Bill, we decided to give it a try. Buzz Quicksilver Mausenger did extremely well in Premiership at the few shows we took him to. He became a Triple Grand Champion Alter (TICA) in three shows. We were delighted! Unfortunately, he decided a career in the ring was not for him, so now he’s a happy, comfortable, stay-at-home kitty.

We were lucky, though -- the silver kitten we later acquired as a companion for him seemed to take showing in stride. J’s Iris One Mau Time of Item became a Grand Premier (CFA) and Supreme Grand Champion Alter (TICA).

We intend to have a very small quality cattery. Both Tom and I are intent on doing the right thing -- the first step was to wait until we found an extra special female to become the foundation for our cattery. We are delighted to present Buzz Dot Com of Item (a.k.a. Smudge.)

Tom and I decided that we wanted a unique Mau to be the foundation Queen for our cattery, and agreed that we would be patient and wait for as long as it took to find a girl that was what we "visualized" as the ideal Mau. One whose whose features, health, and temperment represented all the qualitites that first endeared the breed to us. When we saw Buzz Sharon Stones' kittens, we knew that little smoke girl was meant to be our "Queen". Smudge has the run of the house and has won the hearts of our boys, not to mention having the upper paw!

We would be happy to answer any questions about our cats and (schedule allowing) welcome guests.
