To the average person, the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" brings to mind a group of neatly dressed
people going from door to door in the neighborhood, selling the Watchtower magazine, or perhaps a
book. However, when I think of Jehovah's Witnesses, I recall a lifetime of bondage to a cult which I
served for the first 28 years of my life. My grandfather became a part of the Watchtower Society in the
early 1900s. My father is an elder at his local Kingdom Hall.
