1.God loves us. He is our creator. He created us for a purpose. He
wants us to know him and have a good relationship with him. He
wants us to have abundant life
2.But there is a huge chasm between us and God. The Bible says that
our sin separates us from God.
3.God has bridged the gap by sending Jesus Christ. Check out John
1:1 in the Bible where it says, "In the beginning God was the Word.
. . ." Then check out John 1:14 where it says, "And the Word
became Flesh and dwelt among us. . . ." Check it out! You'll see
the passage refers to Jesus. Then see how it says in 1 Timothy 2:5,
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be
testified in due time."
4.The ball is now back in our court. We can receive Jesus as our
bridge to eternal life or we can reject him. "For as many as
received him, to them he gave the power to be children of God,
even to those who believe in his name." (John 1:12) "If you confess
with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God
has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
5.Confess to God that you have sinned and that you are a sinner. Tell
HIM you are sorry and want to change. Ask HIM to enter your life
and give you new life.
Be willing to turn from your sins (repent)
Believe that Jesus died for you and rose again Commit your life to him.
Bring a friend to a church that teaches the Bible. May I recommend a Calvary Chapel?
I only say this because I know what they teach and I trust them.
Pray as often as you think about it. Pray as often as you can remember to. You don't
necessarily need to kneel down and fold your hands. Just talk to him. Tell God
everything that's on your mind. Continue to confess your sins as you become aware
of them and put them away. Nail them to the cross where Jesus died.
Meet other Christians. Get to know them. Pray with them. Do things together. Go to a
home Bible Study. Whatever. The point is, seek fellowship with other believers.
Share with your friends, family, coworkers, and anybody you can what GOD has
done for you.
