Tuna Sandwich Boats

Ingredients

  • 6 sourdough French rolls
  • 1 (7-ounce) can tuna, drained
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion (or small onion chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons pimiento-stuffed olives, sliced
  • Dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash of hot sauce
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
 

Directions

  1. Cut a 1/2-inch slice from top of each roll; scoop out center, leaving a 1/2-inch shell.
  2. Combine tuna and next 9 ingredients.
  3. Add mayonnaise; toss gently to coat.
  4. Spoon tuna mixture into shells; place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

Yield: 6 servings.
