Oh to hear the angels sing, glory what large rocks he brings!
For those of you too young to remember, we are gathered here today - not to mourn - but to celebrate the life of our great friend Hawkins. Although he has been gone for six and a half years, we still find ourselves perusing the rocks to find one suitable for him to chase.
Yes, Hawkins filled our lives, laps and toes with rocks. He was a good dog...but alas, he now rests in eternal glory with our heavenly father.
How many rocks did you throw for him? Remember how much he appreciated that time you took out of your busy day just for him? Remember how many times he kept returning with the same rock just to give you that opportunity again? And oh, how saddened he was when he was turned away.
Hawkins was my best friend when I was growing up. He was 16-1/2 years old when my mother led him to his destruction.
But rest assured we will be with him again someday and I'm sure we will be overjoyed to toss a little rock his way now and again.
I ask you all to bow your heads and thank God for having known such a wonderful and loving dog.
Thank you.
