The Haynet is a free model horse mailing list sent directly to your e-mail address several times a day. Anyone can post messages about any topic related to model horses (except sales lists). A separate mailing list, called the model-exchange, is exclusively for sales lists and posts about items wanted or for trade. These lists produce a lot of mail. If you are interested in subscribing to the Haynet, I highly recommend you subscribe to the digest version. People on the digest receive all of the messages as those on the regular version, but the messages come in neat little "bundles" several times a day. Instructions for subscribing are below.
There are a few things to keep in mind when subscribing to any mailing list. Always read the FAQ (frequently asked questions) and any messages sent by the list administrator. It is not the list administrators job to settle any personal squabbles on the list, so avoid them and deal with any you find yourself in on your own. Never post anything that you do not want the whole world to see. Anyone may print out messages and distribute them. Messages are also archived for anyone with world wide web access to viesw. Also, always check the address you are sending things to several times before you send them. Personal replies and subscribe commands should never go to the list. Follow all rules of netiquette. DO NOT FLAME PEOPLE PUBLICALLY ON THE MODEL HORSE LISTS. This will quickly tarnish your own reputation and repeated offenses might get you removed from the list. Flaming includes any personal attack on another.
NOTE: There are separate addresses for posting regular messages (you will receive this address when you subscribe), posting sales lists (you will receive this address when you subscribe), and subscribing. Be careful where you are sending things!
To SUBSCRIBE to model-horse (the Haynet):
The procedure for subscribing the the Haynet and Model-Exchange has changed. The list is now maintained using onelist. To subscribe to either list, you will have to register with Onelist. This involves filling out a simple registration form and replying to the confirmation e-mail once you have found the list you are looking for. To find the Haynet, go to Find A List and type model-horse in the search box. Click search and the model-horse list will be found. Click on "Subscribe to this List" and follow the directions. When you fill out the registration form, your browser should be set up to accept cookies. I recommend the digest version as opposed to the normal version as it will generate less mail.
To SUBSCRIBE to the model-exchange (sales lists):
Follow the above procedure except replace model-horse with model-exchange.
