INFORMATION CHAPTER ONE Chapter
One deals with William McChesney, the early settler of Pennsylvania, and whom
is believed to have been the father of Richard Chesney, whom left
Pennsylvania and settled in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The locations are Dauphin, and York
Counties in Pennsylvania. Names of
allied families are Fulton, Wilson, Wallace, and Bell. CHAPTER TWO Chapter
Two begins on page eleven, and documents the family of Richard and Jane Young
Chesney, early Spartanburg County, south Carolina settlers. It includes information about the Young
family, also of York county, Pennsylvania, and the 96th District of South
Carolina, and the suspected connection between them and Jane Young Chesney. CHAPTER THREE Chapter three begins on page 21, and
documents the early history of John and Sarah Chesney, the early Grainger
County, Tennessee settlers, in
Spartanburg County, South Carolina, and early Grainger County, Tennessee,
including references to land documents in Spartanburg. The issue of John having been a member of
the Richard Chesney of Spartanburg County, South Carolina, and having not
been a member of the Union County, South Carolina Chesney family, as has been mistaken in the
past, is addressed also in this

the life of John Chesney
1794-1876, the early Settler of Grainger and Union Counties,
