1. President Ulysses Simpson¹ GRANT was born in Point Pleasant, Clermont, OH 27 APR 1822. Ulysses died 23 JUL 1885 at 63 years of age.

He married Julia Boggs DENT in St. Lewis, MO, 22 AUG 1848. Julia was born in St. Lewis, MO 26 JAN 1826. Julia was the daughter of Colonel Frederick Fayette DENT and Ellen Bray WRENSHALL. Julia died 14 DEC 1902 in Washington, D.C., at 76 years of age. He was originally named Hiram Ulysses Grant

President Ulysses Simpson GRANT and Julia Boggs DENT had the following children:

2 i. Frederick Dent² GRANT was born in St. Lewis, MO 30 MAY 1850. Frederick died 11 APR 1912 in New York, New York, NY, USA, at 61 years of age.

3 ii. Ulysses Simpson GRANT Jr. was born in Bethel, OH 22 JUL 1852. Ulysses died 26 SEP 1929 in San Diego, CA, at 77 years of age.

4 iii. Ellen Wrenshall GRANT was born in Wish Ton Wish near St. Louis, MO 4 JUL 1855. Ellen died 1922 in Chicago, Cook, IL, USA, at 66 years of age. Her body was interred in Springfield, IL, Oak Ridge Cemetery.

5 iv. Jesse Root GRANT was born 6 FEB 1858. Jesse died 8 JUN 1934 at 76 years of age. His body was interred in San Francisco, CA.
