Romanzo M Haven, and old and well-known resident of Nickerson, died at about noon yesterday, at his home, after about a month's illness. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, three sons and three daughters. One son lives at Nickerson, Will Haven lives in Fremont, and Harvey is now away from home. All the daughters are at Nickerson.
Deceased was born in Genesee County, New York, on April 4, 1837, and was on of a family of eleven children. He lived in New York with his parents until he was 12 years of age and lived in Illinois and Iowa before cooming to Nebraska which was in 1868. He located at Fontanelle taking a homestead and residing there eight years. He then came to Nickerson and bought a house which he ran for many years as a hote.
Mr. Haven was a member of the GAR post of this city, He was a soldier in Co D of the 9th Iowa Volunteers and was with Sherman in his famous march to the sea.
The funeral will take place tomorrow from the house in Nickerson and will be under the auspices of the GAR post of Fremont, which will attend in a body. from Fremont (NE) Tribune 15 Mar 1900 4:4

He married Cordelia SEYMOUR in NY. Cordelia was born ABT 1827. Cordelia died 5 JUL 1897 in Fremont, Dodge, NE, at 70 years of age. Death of Mrs. C. A. Haven. Mrs. C. A. Haven, aged 70 years, died yesterday afternoon at her home, corner eleventh Street and Clarkson Avenue, after an illness of two months.
For the past year the deceased has not enjoyed the best of health. On April 6th, she suffered a paralytic stroke and was very low, sinking gradually until the end came. She has been a resident of Fremont for about fifteen years. Two sons, Wm. H. of this city and J. H. of Albion survive her. The funeral will take place from her home at 10 o'clock wednesday forenoon. 6 July 1897 4:4
