John Butler Orr, son of Joseph and Jane Orr, was born in Columbiana County, Ohio on January 25, 1819. On December 17, 1846 in Columbiana County, Ohio he married Mary Jane Frederick, born 1829 in Columbiana County, Ohio, daughter of Noah Frederick and Hannah McCallister of Madison Township, Columbiana County, Ohio.

John was a house carpenter by trade. He and Mary Jane remained in Columbiana County finally settling in Madison Township. John died in 1897 and Mary Jane died in Lisbon, Ohio in 1901, at the home of her daughter Hannah Orr Aldoerffer. John and Mary Jane are buried in the Madison Township Cemetery, Madison Township, Columbiana County, Ohio.

Children of James Butler Orr and Mary Jane Frederick:

1. Noah James Orr born 1850 in Columbiana County, Ohio. When his mother died he was living in East Liverpool, Columbiana County, Ohio.
2. Hannah H. Orr born 1853 in Columbiana County, Ohio married Oscar Aldoerffer and was living in Lisbon, Ohio when her mother died.
3. Eugene Henry Orr born September 22, 1854 in Madison Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, died 1925 Glenmoor, Columbiana County, Ohio and married Mary Diedrick. Eugene and Mary had Walter Orr and Edwin Orr.
4. Margaret Orr born 1857 in Columbiana County, Ohio.
5. Mary Orr born 1860 in Columbiana County, Ohio.
6. Clementine Orr born 1862 in Columbiana County, Ohio.
7. Franklin Orr born 1866 in Columbiana County, Ohio. Was living in Cleveland, Ohio when his mother died.
