EPILOG
The members of the Heritage Committee hope that you have enjoyed this book as much as they have enjoyed producing it. As stated in the Prolog, the concept, catalyst, completion, and challenge have been the driving forced that brought together, randomly, a fine group of citizens....Alphabetically...JUNE DILLE, JACK KENNELLY, NINI KINDEM, HILDA KUEHL, MIMI NACHMAN, BEA NORDSTROM, BETTY SODOMKA, ROBERT TONRA, AND BEA WILLIAMS...the citizens of Burnsville owe much.
They responded to the call of the Nation's Bicentennial...
They responded to the call of Burnsville's Bicentennial Commission...
They given to the community something it did not have before, for better or worse...in print; a record of some of the history, some of the heritage , some "sense" of Burnsville being more than a "suburban" hodge-podge lost in the metropolitan madness.
With more people, more time, more money, we could, perhaps, have produced more than what some will call an "instant history". The FACT remains, that the owner of this book has something about Burnsville that did not exist until this "rag-tag" committee declared, in a letter to the Chairman of the Burnsville Bicentennial Commission, "we will produce a book about the history of this community by July, 1976, entitled....BURNSVILLE, ‘76; A Community History.
To all....JUNE DILLE, JACK KENNELLY, NINI KINDEM, HILDA KUEHL, MIMI NACHMAN, BEA NORDSTROM, BETTY SODOMKA, ROBERT TONRA, and BEA WILLIAMS.....THANKS
