July 11th Hi Mommy & Daddy

Smokey (aka Booboo) and me decided that while you are away we will keep a diary...that way you will know what we were doing while you & Daddy were honeymooning!!!

Smokey and I really really missed you today. You would be really proud of us thought....we met Nolle at the front door as soon as she cam in! Smokey was very good...he didn't slink once! Nolle played whirly ball with us in the living room & gave us grass to nibble. She even refilled our bowls with some fresh water! (we had left the house at 5 a.m. that morning).

We really miss you but hope you are having a great time!

July 12th

Hi!..We were expecting you today...but Nolle came instead. We saw two yellow finches at the bird feeder. The funny thing that happened was that Nolle over cooked our food..she thought she put it in for 8 seconds but cook & simmer was NOT the button to push. (I had forgotten to show her how to use our microwave). Luckily she was watching it and stopped our food from getting way too hot!! Today, we played with the whirly ball and I (Riley) really liked to play with the fuzzy rope toy tied to the downstairs window. Both Smokey & me look so handsome (if I do say so myself) we were brushed and cuddle lots today! Oh Nolle tells me to tell you "Thank you for the Tomato"!!

July 13th

Hi! WHERE ARE YOU???? Smokey is being so brave. He greets Nolle me at the door every night! He hasn't slunked once! Tonight our food was heated to perfection...( I guess Nolle figured out the Microwave). The red lighty thing on the phone was flashing so Nolle called Wal Mart and told them she was living at our house right now and that YOU & DADDY weren't coming back for a COUPLE OF WEEKS! Funny but I don't recall Nolle sleeping over...it must be one of those strange things HUMAN PEOPLE say. I really enjoyed jumping into the bath tub today, but something was missing ...YOU.

I was given some of that nummy malt stuff that I like so very much ...but Nolle wouldn't let me have more than my usual portion =^..^= Did you tell her how much to give me? I even tried to get more with some EMERGENCY tummy rubs to no avail, she just put the malt away :-(. We watched Nolle play with all the balls downstairs..humans are so funny to watch....Smokey & me just sat there watching Nolle roll the balls back and forth, back and forth....

Well we are resigning ourselves that you guys have gone away for a while....Gee I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

July 14th

Here we were quietly sleeping in our favourite places when all of a sudden a guy in shorts comes pounding on our door! Then he writes something down and sticks it to our door. I must admit he scared Smokey & me.. So when Nolle arrived earlier than we expected her we didn't meet her at the door. But as soon as we realized who it was we came running! Smokey for the first time since you went away wanted to play chase the kibble.

So after Nolle used the phone to call "Purolator" (she told me who that loud guy was.) she played chase the kibble with Smokey..I just sat beside her waiting for her to hand feed me kibbles..YUP I've already got her trained!! We then went downstairs and supervised Nolle scrubbing the litter boxes. Since she seemed to be doing a great job we decided to explore behind the curtain in the laundry room. Nolle was not impressed she picked up Smokey and I of course eluded her.

She came back a few seconds later and scooped me off the dryer. I was told that I wasn't allowed to play or explore there anymore :-( After she picked three tomatoes. We watched her play whirly ball and then allowed her to pet each of us. Wildbaby (a stray I feed) came for a visit and allowed Nolle to get close to him...I guess he could sense that she was a cat person too like you Mom.

Nolle tells me that the Purolator package is going to be dropped off at her office so that LOUD guy won't be back to disturb our slumbering. AHHH! Its a cat's life all we do all day while Nolle is away is slumber, chase toy mice and have a wonderful time.

July 15th

Well Smokey & I greeted Nolle today at the door. Smokey even meowed hello. So he is getting use to Nolle visits. We were brushed today so we look beautiful! I needed emergency tummy rubs as soon as Nolle arrived. Smokey chose to just be petting and groomed. We played with the little mice today and I showed Nolle my wonderful scathing post downstairs! Nolle also brought in a little package from that guy from yesterday. Oh and the tomatoes Nolle took yesterday were seemingly very yummy! Hope you are enjoying your cruise!

July 16th
Hi Guess what today is Friday! Smokey told Nolle he would like lots of cat grass today he even showed her the way to the basement & the laundry room door! I got some nummy malt stuff but, still no extra licks ! :-(.

Both Smokey and I asked for lots of cuddles today; we are very happy but love the extra attention:-)!! I even played at the little grey mouse! Back and Forth the little guy went...it was a lot of fun! Oh and Kelly left a message on the phone so Nolle called her back and left a message.

We got brushed again today and put on our fancy tuxes.....because Nolle said we could have some friends over for a cat nip party!! We are both very excited!! We are serving kibble snacks and of course cat nip!

P.S. Nolle said we were allowed to party so don't be mad at us..blame her.

July 17th

YAWN!! Wow what a night! We were up past 3 a.m. Lots of our friends dropped by for the party. It was lots of fun! Today, being Sunday we are taking it easy being 34 degrees here in Georgetown (that's about 90 or so F) and with the humidity it is the perfect day for sleeping & snoozing. Nolle told me that the humidity makes it feel like 40!! WHEW! HOT! Luckily the air-conditioning is keeping us cool & comfortable.

July 18th

Auntie Donna called today. She wanted to see how we were doing. Nolle told her that we were doing great (and she is right!) But don't get me wrong we still miss you guys. Smudge came over for a visit so we talked to him through the front window. After that Smokey and I spent the rest of the day resting & dreaming about chasing mice!

July 19th

Both of us greeted Nolle today with a hello meow. Nolle cleaned the filter today. The white filter looked a little bit grey. Nolle asked me to ask you if you rinsed the charcoal filter until the dust is gone.. (yes I had :-) before you put it into the filter?

After all the messy stuff was done Smokey felt like playing chase the kibble! All our place mats got washed today and the floor got wiped. (Nolle told me we are messy eaters).

Today is overcast we had rain earlier this afternoon but by evening it was just gray I ate lots of grass. I have finally trained Nolle ....I like my grass pieces chopped into lots of 1" pieces so I can just gobble them up. Smokey of course prefers his long and bunched together.

July 20th

Today, we both ate malt. I ate my usual 1 inch piece and Smokey had a 1 cm piece of malt!! We both are out grass and then I jumped into the bathtub looking for you. I really think I need to get some bath toys. Nolle keeps threatening that if I like the bathtub so much she might give me a bath..but generally, after a tummy rub I happily leave the bathroom...boy do I have her trained.

July 21

Nolle came today to find Smokey's lady friend lying under you car. Ohhh! Smokey says he didn't want me to mention her here...he was going to tell you when you got back home.OOPS. Anyway, her name is Brandy (Nolle named her) she is about 5 lbs.

She has a white face and white paws with a brown & black tabby back. She is a long hair cat. Nolle says she looks like Momma cat (Nolle cat) but a different colour.

As soon as Nolle came in I needed lots of emergency tummy rubs! I just kept collapsing (you know me)! Even Smokey was in a cuddly mood. He wanted lots and lots of cuddles and belly and back rubs.

July 22

We I guess I've been telling you how well we have trained Nolle but she thinks she has us trained. (Don't tell her its the opposite way around). We have established a really good routine now. Nolle comes in the front door, we Meet her at the kitchen door entrance we never try to leave (we have it way to good here).

Anyway, she immediately goes and washer her hands in the kitchen sink. I collapse at her feet requiring emergency tummy rubs. After the tummy rubs she prepares our soft food. While we eat, she washes out all our bowls, and gets our kibble and fresh water. By this time we have finished eating. Smokey started meowing today and racing downstairs.

(Nolle made a big mistake of allowing him to nibble from the pot of grass yesterday when she washed the litter boxes. What was considered a privilege he now believes to be a right. She gave him the pot of grass and then broke some off for him. She took the cut grass upstairs and we followed. Thus eating our shares....but Smokey as soon as Nolle headed downstairs to clean the boxes immediately started meowing at the laundry room door, the little porker wanted more grass!!

Anyway, after having another snack we went upstairs for more cuddles. Before Nolle leaves she takes out the garbage and refills Wildbabys bowls.

July 23

Today, as soon as we heard Nolle's car we ran to the kitchen to greet here there. Once we were fed Smokey became Nolle's shadow. He followed her while she washed the water bowls and the kibble bowls. He followed her while she cleaned up the litter boxes. He was following her everywhere! I of course was more interested in my food than in Nolle's rounds.

Smokey & I got brushed today. And Smokey got lots of cuddles and kisses. Nolle said she figures that he has finally accepted her and thus like her cat Swarte (pronounced Swar-tee) he wants to be with her assisting her every move. He even tried to help her while she watered the violets..Daddy the paw prints on the mirror are Smokey's ...not mine. (we have a floor to ceiling mirror in the family room). Nolle quickly told him to stop standing on his hind legs since he shouldn't be touching the mirror. Nolle told us we should have a quiet night tonight, and warned us that thunderstorms were maybe coming. The she kissed us good night and said she'd be back in the morning.

July 24

Nolle told us today that a surprise was coming tonight!! She also told us that we will likely be startled since it will be very early in the morning?? (it was 3 a.m.) You and Daddy are coming home today. Hooray! Hooray!

We are so happy we chased our tails. This past two weeks passed very quickly. And we were good boys Mommy you should be proud of us.

Some habits we have started: Smokey as previously mentioned had started the bad habit of meowing at the laundry room door to get his cat grass (I had forgotten to tell Nolle he did that). I like my grass cut right after my soft food.

Nolle wanted us to tell you that the small litter box & Saturdays little boxes were both cleaned today. The garbage and recycling were taken out on Thursday. Most of the mail was collected by C & R next door. The second tub of cat grass is growing..she added more seeds on Friday, since it wasn't as full of grass as she had hoped.

After talking to you, she realized she hadn't asked how your holiday was going (I had called from Vancouver) and is she very very sorry about that. Also please call her Sunday, if you haven't called by 6 p.m. she promises to call and check to see if you guys are home..if you missed your plane she will come over and feed us.

We love you! And we are so glad you are home.
