Mary Gehling Family

Mary was born on the family farm in Carroll County, Iowa, on 10 November 1888. She was baptized at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in the nearby town of Carroll and also went to school there. On 4 May 1915 she married William Reiling, and the two of them took up farming near Coon Rapids, Iowa. He was said to have been a good farmer and mechanic, she an excellent seamstress and gardener. Together they had six children:

5- Theresa Reiling (later became Sister Theresa, a Catholic nun)

6- Joseph Reiling (married Jeanette Haberl)
