The Extinict town of Graysport was located on the Yalobusha River about ten miles east of Grenada. It was established about 1836 and was named for a man by the name of Gray who owned the western part of the town site. Some of the early keel boats made regular trips form Grenada to Graysport and at that time the place was known as a wide-open town. The town was still in operation as late as 1888 but today it lies at the bottom of the huge Grenada Lake.
