August 1998 Cat of the Month

Congratulations to Amadeus! He is the winner of Sarah's Playgroup's Cat of the Month contest for the month of August.

Amadeus

Hello. My name is Amadeus. I love my daddy Tboob. Daddy's friend John found me crying in the engine of a parked car when I was a baby. Daddy and I love music and spending lots of time together. My daddy loves me so much that he even built a website for me...how cool is that?

Amadeus has a website located at http://members.tripod.com/~thebaldone/amadeus.html

July 1998 Cat of the Month

Congratulations to Alex! He is the winner of Sarah's Playgroup's Cat of the Month contest for the month of July.

Alex

Alex came to live with us when he was only 8 weeks old. He'll be 1 yr old July 18. He's just a little guy but always shows lots of love. He likes to climb mini blinds and he sleeps under the covers with me every night. If you let him he will crawl into your pillow case (with pillow still in) and sleep there. He also enjoys getting into trouble with his older brother Ned. Even though Alex is very naughty...he's still my little sweetheart!

June 1998 Cat of the Month

Congratulations to Tabakitty! She is the winner of Sarah's Playgroup's Cat of the Month contest for the month of June.

Tabakitty

My name is Tabakitty. I have a formal name which we do not use often, only when we go to the vet's, so I am not too fond of it. It is Tabatha. The humans who love me call me Tabakitty or Tab. Fourteen years ago when I first met my Mommy (the human one) I could fit into her one hand. I was only six weeks old. I have grown into a very large girl over the years, but still very precious. My main job around here is to wake my mommy up in the morning to feed me. I stare at her for about five minutes with my face as close to hers as I can get it and I purr very loudly. If that doesn't work, I lick her eyelashes, which usually does the trick. If this doesn't work, (I know she is faking sleep by now) I bite a huge section of her hair on the top of her head, real close to her scalp, and pull real hard, while pushing on her head with my paw, for leverage. This always does the trick. Walla, I am going to be fed!!!

May 1998 Cat of the Month

Congratulations to Polly! She is the winner of Sarah's Playgroup's Cat of the Month contest for the month of May.

Polly

Polly's a multi-colored tabby who thinks she's a mountain lion, she likes to climb on the top of everything, furnture, my filing cabnet (which she's standing on in this photo), me. I named her Polly because when I first brought her home from the farm where she was born, she purched on my shoulder like a parrot (Polly, want a cracker). Although born outside, on a farm in western Nebraska, Polly is stricly an indoor cat. I picked Polly (or maybe she picked me) out of 2 litters of 6 kittens each born within days of each other, because 1) I wanted a female, they don't spray and 2) she was the friendliest. The female siamese I had my eyes on wouldn't have anything to do with me, or anybody else. This little black kitten with black and white stripped face kept climbing into my lap and purring so I choose her (okay, she chose me). Anyway, I imediatly took her in my sister's house to get her used to being an indoor cat. She took to it instantly. Although she could hear her siblings playing outside, through the screen door, she never once tried to get out. Polly now lives about 8 hours away from the farm she was born on, and in the 9 months I've had her has still not tried to get out of the house. She does stand by the door and look out but as soon as anyone comes near the door she runs down into the basement. Polly also enjoys sitting in any open window, to watch and listen to the birds. Catnip grows wide in the backyard but so far Polly has not shown any interest. She does like an occasional yogurt however. Polly seems to know my schedule better than me. She mews at me if I stay up too late, taps me on the arm or leg if I don't get up right away in the morning. She doesn't seem to understand that I can sleep late on Saturdays though. She's a smart girl, she'll figure it out eventually. There are more photos of Polly at Polly's Palace.
