Fudge Nut Bars


      Cookie Dough Ingredients
      1c butter
      2c brown sugar
      2t vanilla
      2 1/2 c. sifted flour
      1t baking soda
      1t salt
      3c quick oatmeal
      2 eggs

      Fudge Filling Ingredients
      12 oz. choc. chips
      1c condensed milk
      2T butter
      1/2t salt
      1c chopped nuts
      2t vanilla

      To Prepare:
      Cream 1c butter and sugar; Mix in 2 eggs, 2t vanilla. Sift flour, baking soda, 1t salt, stir in rolled oats. Set aside. In saucepan over boiling water, mix chocolate chips, milk, 2T butter, 1/2t salt. Stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and add nuts and 2t vanilla.

      Spread 2/3 of cookie dough in bottom of greased 15-1/2"x10-1/2"x1" jelly roll pan. Cover with fudge filling. Dot with remainder of cookie dough and swirl it over fudge filling.Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut into bars. Cool in pan on wire rack.
