Macaroni and Cheese


      Ingredients:
      1/4c butter or margarine
      6T flour
      1t salt
      2c milk
      buttered bread crumbs
      paprika
      8 oz grated sharp cheddar
      8 oz box elbow macaroni, cooked and drained

      To Prepare:
      Heat butter in microwave on high in glass bowl for 1-1 1/2 minutes or until melted. Stir in flour and salt. Gradually add milk; stir until smooth. Cook in microwave at medium 4 1/2-5 minutes or until sauce is thickened; stir 3 times. Add cheese and stir until completely melted. In 3-qt. casserole dish, combine macaroni and cheese sauce

      To cook by conventional oven:
      Preheat oven at 325 degrees. If desired, sprinkle with paprika or buttered bread crumbs. Bake 30-33 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and brown

      To cook by microwave:
      Cook at medium power 6-8 minutes; stir once. If desired, sprinkle with paprika or browned buttered bread crumbs before serving

      For quick and easy:
      Omit sauce ingredients. To cooked macaroni, add, 1# pkg processed cheese spread, cut into cubes, and 1 can evaporated milk. Microwave on high 5-8 minutes. Stir and serve.
