Play with your animation shop program, try and create new and different types of animation, ask your friends and family to view it, and see what response you get. That is the best way to learn. You never know what "new fad" you may start in animation, and get your site recognized for a new way to do whatever it is you created. Try and keep records of what you do, and how you did it for tutorials. Everyone that is trying to learn loves to try tutorials.
One thing I know is 'When something new is created, it gets shown - to family, friends, classmates, sent through E-mail, icq, and other instant message programs, if it catches on, there are more hits to that site, and a good possibility that the creator's of that program will link to that site. This equates to: If you created it, you get more hit's to your site, more acknowledgment's and a good possibility of being discovered by someone that is interested in your work, this happens all the time on the Internet.
The process of animation that I do is very "simplistic" and more like a flip book then a true animation like you see on some sites, I have not attempted a moving object other then my rocker chair and name that goes across my other pages, both of these were created before Jasc's animation program.
Many sites are now creating another form of animation, that we see on the Internet by the use of a "Java applet", like the lake applet. Where it makes the scene (usually a mountain and water picture) look like the water is actually moving with a reflection of the upper part created in the lower part.
I have seen a page where a table was used and the background image is an animated snow scene and another image was placed within the table that had transparent spots (so the animated snow scene showed through) to make it look like it is all one image, very creative.
There are some other good programs on the Internet to create 3-D animation, professional looking animation. A lot of sites have demo versions to create and try.

Here is a sample of some of my other animation's I have created over the past few years of being online.
Granny-Wicked's PSP Link page
some of these links have animated items on them.
