This is a letter I received for a lady explaining this method to me. She said it was o.k. to share it with you...
1. Pin fabric to right side and bast along shape.
Hi Everyone.....I usually don't post but I must comment on the Back
Basting Method. I took a class a few months ago at one of the guilds
I belong to and a member gave a class on Back Basting but with a
little added something.
Everything is exactly the same until after the fabric is basted on.
2. WITH A WHITE PENCIL OR LEAD PENCIL DRAW A THIN LINE JUST
OUTSIDE THE BASTING LINE ON THE RIGHT SIDE.
3. I put a dot or line in the seam allowance at the beginning and end of where another piece will cover so I know not to applique this area down.
This drawn line really helps in keeping you on track after you snip the basting stitches and start to applique. The little extra time it takes to do the drawing around the basting threads is minimal.

P.S. Sure hope this will help somebody !! Thanks Sue !!
