I thought it would be fun to give you my bio from the perspective of some of my friends. Now.... that's NOT to say I'm going to let them get away with murder, so mixed in with my friends comments you'll find MY comments on THEIR comments, after all this isn't "Roast Ruby Night"..... or IS it???

The following is "RubyRed's Bio - by Jarrus"...... additional comments provided by ME, Rubyred! (NOTE: See **Jarrus** at the bottom of this page for "Jarrus's Brief Bio - by RubyRed")

Jarrus: Ok, this is one of those things that comes from the "It seemed like a good idea at the time" pile. Basically, Ruby has been saying for a while that she would write up a quick profile of herself. In the nature of the best, her creative instincts have turned to more productive projects, like.. umm.. Well, it was productive at the time. Cattle mutilations, I think.

RubyRed: Cattle mutilations!! REALLY Jarrus!!!

Jarrus: Anyway! Being the bored fellow I am,

RubyRed: Bored but never boring, I'll give him that :)

Back to continue Jarrus' sentence: I offered to type one up for her. This will also give Rubes some idea of how much money to send me at Christmas.

RubyRed: How much money to send him at Christmas? He's enterprising too, isn't he? Maybe overly hopeful but definitely enterprising!

Jarrus: We'll start with some vital statistics (these are vital):

Nickname(s): RubyRed, RubyRd when the server kicks
                 her off (happens surprisingly frequently)
    Real Name: Joyce
    DOB: 20th of February, 1955
Location: Kasson, Minnesota (Dodge County.. south of
                 Minneapolis)
Height: Darned if I know.. I'm guessing.. 5'7"?

RubyRed: Great guess Jarrus... I'm 5'6" 1/2.

Back to Jarrus:

    Weight: ?
Offspring: Dexter, Noodles, Ron, Greg K
    Ruby's kids: Jaime, Jeremy

Alright enough vital statistics. Hey, did you ever notice that "Height" and "Weight" are spelt *almost exactly the same* and yet guessing one can cause so much more trouble than guessing the other? See, this bio is not only fun, it's educational. And probably nutritious, too.

RubyRed: Jarrus is surprisingly intellegent for someone of his tender years, isn't he?

Jarrus: *Flashback* Ah yes, I remember my meeting with RubyRed very well... Almost like it was yesterday (that's when I re-read the log). It was on a quaint little channel named #Family, on the OzNetwork.. She was a high level op.. I was just a newbie.. But something happened between us.. I said "Hi." (I was using full stops at that stage) She said "hi, welcome to family". And that was it.

*Flashforward* I bet not even half of this gets past preliminary editing you know.

RubyRed: It ALL got past ALL the editing Jarrus. I just reserved the right to add my own comments. After all it's MY website and there's not a single thing you can do to stop me *grin*!

Jarrus: Ruby at the time struck me as a caring, concerned individual. I thought she was naturally quiet, but I later learned that she was carrying on two or three conversations in private, and probably updating her webpage as well. I still find her loathe to carry the bulk of a convo, but always ready to listen, help and hug [add three teaspoons of saccharine and stir well].

RubyRed: What a guy! From caring (thank you Jarrus), to hmmmm..... three teaspoons of saccharine.... I'm not sure that one's a compliment but I'll take it anyway.

Jarrus: Joyce was recently selected as one of GeoCities' Community Leaders, and it is indeed a fitting position. It is also a sitting position, because on top of the huge amounts of work she has to cope with "at work" (I still don't know what Rubes actually DOES) she now has to spend a lot of extra time in front of the screen checking out other people's webpages, answering questions and generally not having a life.

RubyRed: I'm sorry to say that I've had to resign from the Community Leader position, due to some other demands on my time and attention. And as far as "what I do at work" I think I've finally explained that satisfactorily to Jarrus. Mainly I talk. I talk a lot and I talk to people about software (Client Access to be exact) and why it works or doesn't work the way it does. In other words I do software support and if you want to know more check out my resume on my Resume page.

Jarrus: And when it comes to webpages, you'd be hard-pressed to find one updated more frequently than Rubes'. Even when she's busy, it seems to get a workover at least once a week, so you always have some idea what's going on in her life.

RubyRed: Gotta tell ya friends, if I DON'T get my page updated often enough Jarrus reminds me. I put an update on it today (March 1, 1998) and not 15 minutes later Jarrus (clear from Brisbane Australia to Kasson Minnesota USA) was sending me an email commenting on it. How's that for friendly telepathy?

Jarrus: One of those things is singing. I can tell you from experience that she has a *great* voice, and you should definitely check out her sound page, where you'll find some samples of her singing. As well as going solo, RubyRed finds time to participate in no less than three choirs, all the while learning to play the organ. (No dirty jokes, please.)

RubyRed: Thank you for the "no dirty jokes" Jarrus. I think I've heard them all from the guys at work, LOL!! Another 'sad to say' is that I've given up the organ lessons (though I'm still working on it on my own) and the very SAD thing is that I gave up the lessons because I got tired of feeling guilty every time I had to tell my instructor that I hadn't practiced much the week before. Now I've no one to report to but myself and I'm easy to please *grin*!!

Oh... and Jarrus, dear... that's no less the TWO choirs :) I belong to the choir at church (St. John's Lutheran) and also to a semi-professional choral group called Friends.

Jarrus: Well that's my $0.02 on the life story of Joyce X. Most of it's probably outdated or just plain wrong, but I'm not getting paid for this. So there.

RubyRed: Ya gotta love it, don't ya?? Thanks Jarrus :)

RubyRed: For some odd reason (who knows why *grin*) Troy (better known to the readers of this page as Jarrus) is a good friend of mine. He's lives in paradise (notice the picture on the border of the background of this page), is a talented photographer (again, notice the picture on the border of the background on this page), a talented artist (I'm hoping one of these days he'll let me display one of his drawings on my site), a B.S.'r extrordinaire (note the B.S. all the way throughout this page *big grin*), and an all around great person and friend whom I never tire of talking with!

Jarrus:

RubyRed: For some odd reason Jarrus has no comeback to all of that...... OH YES!!! It's MY page and I didn't give Jarrus a chance to write a comeback *grin*. Sorry 'bout that Jarrus but after all it IS my page!!!
