In Loving Memory
        Daniel Antonio Sisneros
        July 26, 1981 - January 14, 1998

Daniel was born July 26, 1981 in Artesia, California (Southern California) to Daniel E. & Tammy Sisneros. On January 14, 1998, in Albuqueqrue, New Mexico, Daniel was walking home from school at about 2:40 in the afternoon. He lived just blocks from the school. He crossed the first 2 eastbound lanes of the street, and then, from the large median dividing the road, he crossed the 2 westbound lanes. He was just a few feet from the curb, when an 18 year old Senior fellow student accelerated out of the parking lot of the school, and wasn't paying full attention to his driving. He struck Daniel at about 30-40 MPH. Daniel's body was thrown, and he died at the scene from his injuries. He died from massive head and neck injuries sustained by the Ford Ranger Pickup that struck him.

Daniel with his sister, Monica in 1985 (L) and again in 1996 (R).

Daniel loved sports, both as a fan and a participant. He played YMCA, Boys Club, & AYBL Basketball, Little League Baseball, and he was in several Bowling Leagues. He was one of the leading scorers in the Adult Roller Hockey League of New Mexico. He had also tried out for, and made, the La Cueva High School Roller Hockey Club. He was killed before he ever got to participate in his first practice. The team dedicated their inagural season to Daniel, and they went on to a 12-1 record, and won the City Championship! Daniel was a good student, and took his education very seriously. He looked forward to graduating from La Cueva High, and then attending The University of New Mexico. Daniel was a Christian, and was never ashamed to ask the blessing in public when we'd eat out at a restaraunt. He always expressed a faith and trust in God. Daniel loved his Sister- Monica with all his heart. He always enjoyed her company, and would tease her, but always expressed how much he thought of her. As toddlers, they were inseperable, and as teenagers, they had great love and respect for each other. Daniel was a model kid. He was gentle, obedient, and had a great sense of humor. Daniel also loved music. He liked "Hip-Hop", Rock, Rap, Alternative, Christian, and most kinds of music. He also loved to play videogames, and spent lots of time playing with his "Sony Playstation" Game system. Daniel loved to eat too! Steak, Pizza, lasagna, Submarine Sandwhiches were some of his favorites. He loved Fruit drinks, sports drinks, etc. He used to enjoy laughing at Pro wrestling, and spent some great moments with his dad going to Pro Wrestling events when they would come to town. As an official with the State's Athletic Commission, his dad was able to get him back stage with some of the wrestlers a few times. Daniel was so full of love, and kindness, he was the "hero" of the younger kids in our neighborhood. He had a soft heart for the little ones, and would often invite them to get into a game of basketball in our dirveway, or Roller hockey on our Cul-de-sac. We don't have any regrets about our time with him. His Mother, his Sister, and his Father always told Daniel how great they thought he was. He always seemed secure, and certainly knew how loved he was by his family, and his 2 sets of Grandparents.

"It just doesn't seem possible, that such a great young man could be struck down at age 16. I still can hear his voice, and imagine him coming into the room to say hi to me. But then the reality hits me... I will NEVER see him again, in this world anyway. He was truly "one-in-a-million" as far as Sons go."
