In Loving Memory
        Kevin DeShon Mayfield
        September 8, 1977 - September 21, 1998


        Kevin was born September 8, 1977 at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California. He was murdered 13 days after his 21st birthday. As an infant, Kevin was quick to learn, walking here at 9 months of age.

        Kevin, 3 years old, at Heavenly Vision Child Development Center. Kevin, even as a young child, loved music and was outgoing and bright eyed with a beautiful big smile for everyone he met.

        Kevin played Little League baseball when he was 12 and 13 years old. He was a very fast runner whose specialty was stealing home base.

        Kevin is survived by his parents, Charles and Carolyn Mayfield, and his sister, Stephanie and brother, Charles who he is pictured with here. Kevin loved his family and is loved and missed by all that knew him.

        Kevin was rejoined with his brother, Wade, in heaven.

        Kevin's sister, Stephanie, wrote this poem for Kevin:

        I'll Always Remember You

        I remember your laugh
        Your smile
        They were just like mine
        I remember your words
        Your voice
        They were always kind
        You were so laid back
        You hardly ever made a fuss
        Your whole personality was beautiful
        A kind that you could trust
        You could have been a doctor
        A lawyer
        Maybe a reverend
        But I'll always remember you
        as my baby brother Kevin
        I love you.
