Rufus O. Baird

         Mr. Rufus O. Baird, well known farmer living five miles north of Barry in the Buckeye neighborhood died at his home about two o'clock Monday morning, March 30, 1942.  His death was caused by a heart attack.
         Mr. Baird awakened his wife about one o'clock and asked her to call a doctor, but he died a few minutes befor the doctor reached the Baird home.
         Mr. Baird had been in poor health for a number of years, but did his farm work Saturday and visited with neighbors who visited him on Sunday.  News of his death came as a shock to his friends in the community.
         Rufus O. Baird was born April 21, 1880 on a farm near Barry, the son of John W. and Emma J. Humphrey Baird.  On December 2, 1908 he was married to Bertha Predmore and they became the parents of one son, Hermann, who with the widow survives.
         He had lived in this community during his entire lifetime and was a member of the Barry Christian Church.
         Mr. Baird is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Everett Lawson, two brothers Ernest and Loyd, all of Barry, two grandchildren, Marilyn Jean and Wendell Lewis Baird and many nieces and nephews.  Two brothers and one sister preceeded  him in death.
