Picnics Maryland Style
You are probably wondering why I put Maryland up there instead of Pennsylvania? Well I'm originally from Maryland and only moved here 17 years ago. So I remember our picnics there and we still celebrate the same way. We eat crabs for our picnics! We all chip in as they usually cost around $200 for a bushel. We always eat at my sister's house. She has a screened in porch so the flies don't get to us, and it always so we are safe from it there. We cover the tables with newspaper and use knives, no hammers as you see on tv! They smash and all you have is lots of tiny shells to pick out! Everyone gets their drink of choice and lots of papertowels. We pile crabs on the tables and we eat til we can't eat anymore or are tired of picking. We had a crab feast on Memorial Day and my niece Tara and I were the last to finish, but she beat me with 14 crabs I think! Piggy!

Then after resting awhile we get out the rest of the food. We have a with hotdogs and hamburgers. Potato salad and some baked beans. Then it is onto dessert! There are lots of those!

Here are some of the ones I enjoy making.
