Lazy Crazy Days of Summer

I remember summer days being lazy if I wanted to. My sister and I were so different. She liked laying around and reading all summer. But we somehow managed to drag her out to play with us. We were the only girls in the neighborhood. I think there were about 8 or 9 boys that we hung out with. They ranged in age from 7 to 15 probably. Most of the daytime hours were spent playing kickball. We would all go up to one of the guy's houses and play for hours on end. When it got dark we played a game called Tin Can Alley or Kick The Can. One of the yards we played in was really good for that. It had alot of bushes and trees to hide in. We would play that til late at nite every nite. There were days we would get on our bikes and ride to a pond about 2 miles down the road and go fishing for grayfish. We would wade in up to our knees after them! I don't remember ever getting bit by one! We would also go back in the woods behind our houses and build forts and just hang out. (I guess you can tell I was somewhat of a tomboy!) As some of us got older I remember we would go up into a corn field and play spin the bottle! I can remember summer days being just fun. I miss those carefree days alot sometimes. It was such a fun time with no worries except how to spend the day.
