We all have traditions that we either grew up with or have started as we made our own families. I love doing those things every year. One of our biggest is "The Hunt for the Perfect Tree"
We always go the 2nd Saturday of December. We load up all the heavy clothes, gloves, saws and rope. We have been to many different places, from the mountains to just going and grabbing the first thing we have seen. This tradition started back when Ron and I were in Germany. I was very homesick around the holidays. Well my dear hubby went out and found the biggest tree he could find and brought it home. That year we had it in a bucket! But it was a nice tree.

Well the hunt takes along time now. The kids always don't want the one we want. We now put them at different places and they hold the tree til we find the next! We do this for about 1/2 hour. The trees are always better than the last! But when we do find it we are always happy. Our trees usually are way bigger once we get them inside. But it is ok, we have a vaulted ceiling and they fit!
Ron and Brian cut it down while RC holds it. Loading it up on the truck is always fun. Once it comes home it sits out in the garage for the nite and we put it up the next day. Ron puts the lights on and the kids and I put all the new and old ornaments on it. I love looking at all the ornaments with the kids.

Here are pictures from our hunt this year.

And the finished product

I hope you enjoyed hearing about one of our traditions. Have a very Merry Christmas!
